Finally, time to use technology…

We are on a roll at my school with technology. The teachers have been signing up for my in-class training on the wireless laptop lab. It has been going very well. The students learn about the laptops and then we spend some time on a lesson. We have been doing activities such as Google Earth, learning about the NetTrekker search engine and how to find information, Study Island, and writing assignments. It is a start and as the year progresses, I have no doubt we will be adding other exciting activities with technology. The teachers are starting to hear me throw around the Web 2.0 buzzwords. At the beginning of my training workshop the other day, I thought before I get into my training on Plato Learning Systems, I would give a 5 minute “advertisement” on blogs and wikis. “Just something to keep in the back of your mind” I noted. I am starting to talk to several teachers about trying a blog or a wiki. It all starts with one teacher…
