Resources for Professional Development

Keeping a list of great prof development links for when I start a blogging workshop at my school.
Karl Fisch of The Fischbowl has created a wonderful PowerPoint presentation containing information that is extremely thought-provoking. As you review this presentation, you can think of your children and your students along with what is going on in our world today and in the future, only forcing us to think about the skills needed to survive in the 21st century. Scott McLeod at Dangerously Irrelevant has made slight modifications to the presentation (removed school specific slides). The presentation is available in QuickTime, Windows Media, Streaming Flash Movie online, downloadable Flash movie, AVI video file, and PowerPoint with accompanying audio file.
Wesley Fryer has created a video on blogging (approx. 6 minutes) entitled Perspectives on Classroom Blogging. I was able to use this blogging presentation as part of my presentation at the ASP Conference in Memphis, Tennessee, entitled “25 Ways to Integrate Technology.” It is a great short video and projects a good (as it notes) perspective on the world of blogging.
EdTechLIVE’s weekly webcast interviews series by Steve Hargadon focus on educational technology. There is a library of recordings providing introductions to different educational technologies that can be implemented in the K-12 school environment.

I’m glad you were able to use the video, Julia! Thanks for sharing the link!
